Koukla Coffee Co

For my senior thesis project, I wanted to explore a branding project. When creating the idea for this, it was important to me that it felt personal and that I had a deep connection to it. I chose to create a Greek coffee brand that incorporated both the classical imagery of Ancient Greece and the current lively Greek culture. Reading Greek coffee cups is a form of divination, wherein you can see both the past, present, and future of the person drinking from the cup. This is an oral tradition that my mom has shared with me. Given that it’s an oral tradition, there is limited information written down, so I wanted to incorporate explanation cards within KCC’s catalogue. Documenting traditions such as these is essential to preserving them for future generations. This project was a culmination of my love for design and my Greek heritage.
